Orthopedic Ultrasound
is getting recognized in the imaging arena owing to the diagnostic benefits it offers during the orthopedic physical examination.
Orthopedic surgeons understand the capability of ultrasound in producing portable, real time, non invasive rapid examinations
of soft-tissue structures. Orthopedic Ultrasound is becoming an integral tool of diagnosis and is often called the "orthopedic
surgeon's stethoscope." This method of diagnosis has gained a lot of popularity amongst the patients, 100 % of patients
believe that surgeon-utilized ultrasound yielded better results and assisted in final diagnosis. Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
is also used nowadays to evaluate orthopedic trauma patients. It is a comparatively cheaper and non invasive method specially
used for patients with metallic hardware. This real time method of examination has been used to evaluate fracture union and
reunion, infection, ligamentous injury, nerve compression and mechanical impingement caused by hardware. It is also used to
diagnose rotator cuff tears, bursitis and calcific tendonitis as well, as helping to focus an injection directly into an inflammed
area.
Its finally here, Synvisc is now available
