nasreen@eppleymd.com

Nasreen  is originally from California.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. She received her degree as a Physician Assistant from the Master’s Program at Quinnipiac University in Hamden,  CT in 2009. Quinnipiac is well known for their PA program with a high passing rate for the national certifying exam as well as the well educated PA's they produce. She became certified after passing the NCCPA national board exam in 2009, and is licensed in the state of California.

Nasreen has an excellent foundation in the medical field, working previously at California Sports before going to PA school, as well as working at an Autotransfusion Company, where she recieved experience in surgery and running the autotransfusion for surgeries such as aortic aneurysm, spinal fusions, hip and knee replacement and transplant surgery.

She has to complete continuing medical education programs in total joint surgery, arthroscopy, trauma, sports medicine and general orthopedics. Nasreen is required to complete 100 CME credits, every two years. This keeps her updated on new procedures, techniques and treatments for orthopedic problems.

Nasreen’s education and experience helps her to provide a broad range of orthopedic services, which include treating patients with general orthopedic conditions, evaluating, admitting and beginning treatment of patients from the emergency room. Performing arthrocentesis, intra-articular steroid and lubricant (Supartz, Hyalgan) injections. Preop histories and physicals, postoperative care, prescribing medications, ordering physical therapy, X-rays, MRI's, and reading X-rays and MRI's.  First assisting in surgery, managing patients in the hospital, patient education and research. She is very involved with the care of Dr. Zwahlen's preop and postop patients, so don't hesitate to call her if you have surgical questions.

When Nasreen has time off, she is happy to spend time with her family and friends. She is active in sports including mountain biking and snowboarding. Most of all she is happy to be back to California and just enjoy our wonderful weather.
